Lactation Class

Milk it for all it's Worth!

Learn about lactation basics and feel supported as you welcome a tiny human into your life.

Please join me and other parents for a two-hour lactation class to learn many of the basics related to lactation and chest/breastfeeding.  The class is geared towards getting off to a successful start in the early hours and weeks. Expectant parents may find it most beneficial, but those with tinier newborns will also benefit from the content we cover. This class is donation-based and is open to all!

We’ll cover the basics of when and how to start, latching, positioning, benefits of breast milk, hunger cues, how to know if a baby is getting enough milk, hand expression, basic pumping info, and questions you may want to ask your pediatrician. We’ll also go over frequently asked questions about nursing and some signs that you could use additional support from a lactation consultant. The class will be interactive, and there will be plenty of time for questions throughout.

This class is suitable for anyone who is expecting a baby in their life soon and is planning to provide their own milk to that baby in any capacity (or support someone in doing so). This is an inclusive space, so all types of parents or parents-to-be (including partners or members of a parent’s support network) are welcome.

Class is held one Monday each month - please check your specific date at the link below.

Suggested Donation is $40/person - payable via cash or Venmo at time of class
